Our daughter, Charlotte age 7, has been doing reflex Integration with Ms. Mary for about 4 months now. We were blessed to be able to adopt Charlotte from the foster care system at age 4. She is a sweet, loving, and energetic little girl. While she has many wonderful characteristics, we began to notice her having difficulty with simple things like wearing tennis shoes, fidgeting all the time, and not being able to remember simple math facts and phonics. Charlotte was diagnosed with ADHD and although she was prescribed medication for this, it was not without side effects.
After hearing about and researching reflex integration, we were thrilled to find that Building Bridges for the Mind is right here in our own community and there was no need to travel 3 hours away, multiple times a week, to access this amazing program.
We are so pleased with how this program is working. In only 4 months, we are seeing Charlotte’s reading skills increase to the point that before she struggled with just reading the directions on her schoolwork and now, she is enjoying chapter books! We have seen her go from never being able to wear tennis shoes due to her sensory issues to happily bouncing down the stairs in a pair of shoes with socks, without us telling her she couldn’t wear sandals! We are seeing behavior and attitude improvements that we did not even expect!
What a blessing Ms. Mary has been to our family. We are looking forward to continuing to see Charlotte grow and experience situations like she has never been able to before.

When we started this program with Mary, our daughter was struggling with behavioral and academic issues which included: daily meltdowns, aggression toward peers, reading and math deficiencies, gross and fine motor skill deficiencies, and the list went on. The difference this program has made in her life is amazing. We’ve seen her gross and fine motor skills develop, and she is now able to form her letters correctly with proper sizing and ride balancing toys with ease. Her aggressive behavior has dramatically decreased, her reading and math skills have taken off, and she can now run and keep up with her peers. And, because daily tasks have become so much easier for her, we no longer see the daily meltdowns. Not only has she developed cognitively, but we’ve also seen an increase in her self-confidence. I’m so grateful to Mrs. Mary for investing her time in this program.

My daughter attended Mary Martin’s Study Skills Camp. I was so impressed by Mary’s desire to help young people learn and develop the necessary skills they need to be successful in school and further into their future careers. My daughter gained valuable knowledge that is not typically taught in traditional education. I feel certain the tips my daughter received will help her to excel in so many areas. Thank you, Mary. I can hardly wait to see the benefits when school starts back!!

My daughter just had the most amazing week!! She is 11 years old and going into the sixth grade. Not only did she learn how the brain works and the science behind learning, she also acquired skills and tips to help her study habits both now AND for her high school and college years. This class is very well put together and packed with useful, practical information. We highly can recommend it!!!

I highly recommend attending the learning camp. The two biggest takeaways that my daughters learned were the following: one was called the peg system that helps them memorize items easier. This has been a struggle for them and now they have the tools to do this.
The second one was how to shorten your note taking especially when a teacher is lecturing.
Mary teaches your kids at their pace, so no youth is left behind. My girls also report having a lot of fun which you don’t hear that when attending school.
I’m so happy my girls went through this program and again I highly recommend it.

We are so grateful for the impact of the Davis program and Equipping Minds on our daughter. Destiny has struggled with academic and behavior issues for most of her life, but they began to seriously impact her schoolwork and her relationships just before the tween years. Her ADHD was severe, and her lack of impulse control endangered her and made her violent against her siblings.
With the dedicated guidance of Mary Martin, we watched Destiny work through the skills and exercises of Equipping Minds. She grew faster, more confident, and we all benefited from working through the activities with her. She continues to improve and has a more mature approach to academic challenges, seeing them more as challenges and less like obstacles. The Davis program helped her learn to identify and express her emotions verbally, instead of in the form of violent impulses. Mary also taught US how to set and enforce clear expectations. Destiny had a list of requirements she had to complete each day in order to earn privileges. If she refused to comply, we enforced consequences, and she eventually learned that harmony in our home was worth her effort. She just turned 13 and the difference in her behavior is night and day. Her schoolwork has improved. Her relationships with her siblings have improved. Her participation in her chores at home is so much better. Her attitude has improved, and we are very pleased for her!
Destiny is adopted and we have always held on to the scripture, Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” We believe that her future is bright, and we certainly attribute at least part of that progress to her time working through the Davis Program and Equipping Minds.
We are forever grateful for Mary and her intervention.

The Davis Program does not try to fix me or make me normal. It lest me keep being myself, but helps me understand this world I have to live in.

This program has helped me to understand the world better. It has helped me to have a sense of purpose and to understand the meaning of choice. It is also helping to make my separation anxiety go away. I am becoming a lot more confident.

I have been very pleased with the way the Davis approach has helped my kiddo. It seems to really help him in two particular areas. First, in everyday routines. He has had more success following basic directions and completing tasks. I typically reference the topic “Order” that was covered in the curriculum. Second, when challenges arise with other individuals I am able to refer to certain concepts (emotion, trust, right, wrong) that he mastered via the curriculum. He then typically calms down and is reasonable! In short the sessions helped him establish a way to organize the world around him.

The Davis Concepts for Life program has been truly an amazing journey. My Davis facilitator, Mary Martin, was truly superb! She has gone above and beyond to help guide me through my program which opened a whole new pathway for my journey with myself and others. It is a very comprehensive program with a lot of concepts to process, but well worth it when you are done. It gives you a great feeling of self-accomplishment to be able to finish the entire program. Mary made it so enjoyable to not only master all these concepts but to also engage in all the various explorations. Thank you so much Mary for all your efforts in working with me, it was such a great honor to be able to do my program with you.
Together, we can build a brighter future.
